Networking Austin News / Tip of the Week
Monday, February 1st, 2010I think I have met ten thousand people over the last 20+ years running CEO Network and Networking Austin, and that fact blows my mind! It seems almost impossible to go anywhere and not have somebody say hello. Networking has allowed me to expand my circle of business associates to a level that I thought impossible. The fact that I know people from the ground up, not just a face associated with a business, is what makes it so much fun, and enables me to continue to generate activity with many people who would disappear into the past. I continue to do business with many of the people I have met, as well as send them business almost daily, as I repeatedly get the question”who is the best person for this” on an ongoing basis. I can now see how learning about people as human beings and not just “mortgage brokers” or a “builder,” can really make the difference in the longevity of the business relationship, and therefore continue to generate business activity long after a business owner leaves the group for whatever reason.
It’s worth the investment of time in a network group that concentrates on building relationships and it’s proven to me day in a day out. See you this week.

Networking Austin News
Monday, January 25th, 2010CEO Network, Networking Austin is off and running. We had a great first week, so to speak, as we brought in three new members under our new, old name! What that brought to mind for me are the changes in our approach to effective networking as we matured through the years. Hopefully, learning by trial and error, of how best to approach and gain the best system to effectively put in place a long lasting and lucrative tool for marketing your business. We did that! Always open to new ideas, but finding the foundation to build a system that allows personal knowledge and genuine obligatory synergy based on personal trust and knowledge, bringing forth a powerful sales force, as well as a base of knowledgeable people to rely on for all the kinds of situations we may face in the business world, above and beyond just business leads. So, we keep learning and the participating members keep on receiving the benefits as we continue to bring effective long term networking to our members.
Networking Austin News
Monday, January 11th, 2010Networking has become the new buzz word in the small business arena lately. The fact that the market has driven business owners to look for alternative affordable marketing tools is just one of the reasons we see a growth in networking. We need each others help in finding solutions to today’s economic environment. And how best to do that than to hear it from the people who deal with that change on a daily basis?! Current market information is just one of the many facets of value received from a networking group that is built on a foundation of personal trust and knowledge. This type of system will allow for a myriad of tools to keep up with all the changes occurring in the world today, even if your world is based in Austin Texas! Business leads are just one of the benefits you will receive from a network group, and if the groups concentration is just on that one part, your limiting yourself. Steer clear of a “leads group” if the main focus is just that. Its short-lived and narrow in scope. Join a system that broadens the value of your time and energy invested and builds from the ground up with all the benefits available for your efforts.
Welcome to 2010!
Monday, January 4th, 2010Networking will take a more important role this year and for the foreseeable future as small business owners search for cost effective methods to increase business. There is no better way to do that than networking one on one, and through a group of likeminded professionals.
We all need to row in the same direction, and what I mean by that is to understand that we are gathering for each other’s benefit, not just our own. Keep an open mind to who and how you can help before you begin to worry about yourself. If you hold this posture, the results will be positive for other members as well as yourself. Keep the system growing too by bringing guests. You will find them more amenable this time of year as they look for additional ways to increase business. See you and your guest this week!

NO MEETING THIS WEEK-MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Monday, December 21st, 2009Another year is close to an end and we are all still here and strong! We fortunately have many new members in our group and look forward to the fastest growth time of the year coming up in January. I would like to take this time to thank each and every one of you in Networking Austin for your continued participation in one of Austin’s Premier networking clubs, and look forward to a prosperous new year for all involved.
Please take the time to think of a valuable productive addition to the group, and take the time to invite that business owner to the first meeting of the new year. 2010 sounds like a science fiction movie title to me, but its real and very close. The new year will be far better than the last for some of us, and additional growth for many as well. Lets get our network completely full and collectively enjoy the power of a close-knit, well-based networking club! Have a fantastic Christmas Holiday and we will see you in the New Year!
Networking Austin Tip of the Week
Monday, December 14th, 2009This has been a very interesting year to say the least. I do believe Austin in general was spared the brunt of the economic downturn until recently, and still seems to be fairing better than most other parts of the country.
Networking has played an essential part in keeping productivity up during these tight economic times by supporting each other in partnerships and exposure to markets and business opportunities that would of been missed otherwise.
It just takes participation in a network that allows the facts to be present in the mix so others may better find the true business and or personal support needed to keep activity coming through the door. In group environments that stifle that exchange or that is not conducive to the free flow of base information between members , vital help is less likely to be achieved. But when a group member truly knows what is needed and most importantly feels comfortable in providing the business lead or contact, the total value of the relationship is realized and the activity continues to flow.
This is when the full value of the effort made in building a business network relationship from the ground up comes to full front and center. So when you look for a network to use to increase your business, don’t get involved in one that works the surface, find a group that allows the whole business relationship to be realized to its fullest potential!
Happy Holidays and merry Christmas.
